What is different about remodeling a kitchen in New Hampshire
Older housing stock. Much of Southern NH is capes, colonials, and antiques with plaster walls, undersized electrical panels, and floors that are not level. We budget for that up front instead of calling it a change order later.
Load-bearing walls. Opening a closed-off kitchen usually means a bearing wall. We bring in a structural engineer and install an LVL or steel header under permit, not a guess.
Well and septic homes. Outside the cities, fixture selection and dishwasher choices are affected by real well flow and septic load. We plan around it.
Winter scheduling. Kitchens are interior work, so winter is actually our best availability window. Cabinet lead times, not weather, drive the schedule.
