What is different about bathrooms in New England homes
Rot is common. Decades of a failed shower pan or a leaking toilet flange means the subfloor and joists often need repair. Full demo is how we find it before tile goes down.
Ventilation matters more here. Tight, well-insulated NH homes trap moisture. Every bath gets a correctly sized fan ducted to the exterior, never into an attic.
Zero-curb showers in old homes. Usually possible, but it means dropping the subfloor in the shower area. We confirm feasibility during design, not mid-build.
